Very good! Try the truffle mushroom and the margherita - both are brilliant!
There is a small outdoor dining area along the side of the building.
A great spot for fresh Italian food. Our party had nothing but great things to say about the food here, everyone left happy and full. The Bolognese is delicious!! I cleaned my whole plate, and that's a rare thing for me! Can't wait to go back again. The only downside was service was on the slow side, but the staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Wood burning oven pizza. Customized crusts (doneness), tasty toppings
Pretty good and fast service. Great Margarita pizza.
Real Italian Pizza. Probably the best in NYC
Had the margarita pizza. It’s amazing what freshly made tomato sauce and cheese can do for a pizza! Crust was perfect- right amount of salt, airiness, and texture.Service was impeccable- albeit a bit slow.
Spectacular. Service food atmosphere, all delicious! Definitely will be back.
I was pleasantly surprised by the food and service here. It's reasonably priced but very good Italian food. I'll be back
Great food! Service was great as well.
Excellent food with friendly service.I highly recommend this West Village gem.
An absolutely delicious local favorite! The food is incredible and tastes like it’s straight from Grandma’s kitchen. A great date spot or just for going out with friends. The ambiance is amazing. Staff is super friendly, personable and professional. You’ll want to keep coming back time after time.
Gluten free pizza bliss!!! This place must be the first place you visit. Popular with the locals and for a good reason, the service and the food!
I love this place, amazing food in a city that has so many options, I visit here everytime I come to NYC.
We came with a group of 4 and everyone loved what we got! We came before dinner to have a drink at the bar - bar tender was friendly and helped us select a bottle of wine. Dinner was phenomenal - my husband and I are gluten free and they had many options and everything was delicious.
Sublime, from the superb management and welcome -- to the incredible dough fired up on the pizza. The sauce, the cheeses, I almost don't want to share this review lest more people know! Unmistakably delicious.
Great spot for pizza and pasta! The staff is friendly and everything on the menu looks fantastic. Came on a reservation but there is a bar so you can always have a seat there or hang out before being seated
I was so very sorry to read on the Rossopomodoro restaurant web-site that they were closing permanently as of July 31st. I had many really great meals there and it is tragic due to the pandemic that they have become one of its victims. It is a great loss to the neighborhood and beyond.
Rossopomodoro was definitely the best way to start and end my New York trip! The capriciossa pizza is the best pizza that I have ever had in the US. The dough is soft and chewy, and it tastes like an authentic Neopolitan pizza! The tomato sauce is delicious, and I love how it is sweet and not salty. In addition, the pizzas are loaded with toppings, and they are all fresh, high quality ingredients. The service is also phenomenal, and all of the staff were very personable and treated us like family. Thank you Rossopomodoro for one of the best dining experiences I have ever had, and I look forward to returning here the next time I come to New York.
This rating, wish it could be no star, was for the service tonight. We were seated, with no water, no service for a LONG time. Water poured in, no one asked for our preference. No one came to tell if any specials; and no one took our orders for a LONG time when neighboring table who sat later than us were all getting their drinks. Appetizer took a long time; the pastas were over 35 min ... and no apology. When asked for spoons to enjoy the pasta sauce with, the server threw the spoons ... I could not hold longer and went to complained to the manager, no apology. It seems that they were doing us a favor by opening the extra room (we had reservation) ... no apology for anything. SO I thanked the manager for ruining our night ... asked for the bill; he finally came and said no bill tonight. Whatever. It's all too late. It's sad. Would not come back again; too many other yummy choices with better attitudes.
We had a large group for a special occasion but Rossopomodoro staff were so helpful in planning and making everything great this evening! The food was amazing! Our entire group was over the moon about the quality of the food and wine. It was one of the best Italian meals we’ve ever had. And the customer service exceeded our expectations! Thanks for making our evening special.
I am obsessed. This was an impeccable meal. We started with the FARROW AND SQUASH SALAD, it has an amazing balance and interesting flavor, it wasn’t heavy. Then the NEAPOLITANO PASTA WITH ITALIAN SUSAGE- it was divine. We did add a little red pepper. Finally the CHICKEN ENTREE was flawless and incredible. We are definitely coming back. $81 for two: 2 drinks 2 apps 1 entree
Have been before- and loved it so much we returned. One dish we ordered this time was very very salty.. however my husband does not like to return meals...he just ate it. ( Linguini with clams) Otherwise all was delicious..fast service!
Excellent food. Pizza, pasta and much more. An outstanding Italian restaurant. Highly recommend.
Pretty good pizza. Not as thin as Neapolitan pizzas in the middle (style resembles more Northern Italian pizza), but definitely one of the top 3 I’ve had in the States so far. Ingredients are OK. Cheese was a bit greasy. Limited pizza menu, not many options for red pizzas.
I didn’t have a good time at this place. The food was okay, chicken a little dry. I used to love this place, and I am sad to say the service was sub par yesterday. The waiter seemed rude and didn’t really care if we had a good time. The only thing that was good was that we got water served on the table. But everything else was kinda off, it took forever to get the drinks. I’m really sad. This was my go to place.
It took a lot of “chutzpah” for Rossopomodoro to invade New York. Any New Yorker will assure you that New York Pizza is the world’s best. According to New Yorkers, even the local neighborhood hole-in-the-wall pizza joint serves reheated slices of pizza heaven. Rossopomodoro takes pride in hand-crafting every individual pizza from the freshest, healthiest, organic, and most expensive ingredients. Without criticizing New York generic pizza, Rossopomodoro is indeed special, well worth the premium price.
Adorable wee spot, fun patio on the side walk in lovely neighborhood. Can confirm gluten free pizza is on point. Crust is light, crispy and tasty. I had the mushroom truffle pizza and the ingredients were fresh, flavorful and generous. Service was super warm, attentive and personable. I would go back!
We came here after seeing it on Worth It on YouTube. We really enjoyed the pizza, the crust is something else entirely. It's got little burnt spots which provide some bitterness, but the sauce cuts through it and provides a really great flavor. Definitely worth a trip.
They are incredible now with making reservations and so accommodating when you want to change them. Incredible food! The tagliatelle bolognese and short rib ragu are my favorite!
Cozy Italian spot with amazing gluten free pizza and pasta options. The service is always great. A must try in NYC.
They really dropped the ball!Came in at noon, we were the only customers in the place. Winter weather outside, and no heat inside. We ordered two of their $30 pizzas. They came to the table hardly warm. We sent them back to be reheated, and they brought us back two new pies. That was a nice try. However, neither of them were hot either.Their food is delicious. But it needs to be hot when it reaches the table. Which really wasn’t that far of a walk, so I don’t understand how that could have happened. But it was a big disappointment. We did not have enough time left to send it back for the second time. Unlikely I will return. Our server, Stephanie, took our one beer and one bottle of sparkling water off the bill. Apparently, that was the most the manager would allow her to deduct. Thank you, Stephanie, you tried hard to save the game for your team. It’s too bad that your manager was so determined to stumble.
Amateur service:1. We asked if there is a fresh orange juice, the answer was positive so we ordered - we got definitely not a fresh one.2. Tap water was refilled in my glass even though I asked for sparking one.3. Waiters unwillingly do the serviceReally nice decoration, but extremely loud inside in the restaurant.Delicious food, portions could have been a bit bigger.
Rossopommodoro has very good food! The orecchiette and ravioli were amazing. The truffle and mushroom pizza was also really good. We havent had the truffle pizza in many locations. The atmosphere was really nice. It's a small, intimate, spot with a great location. Our service was questionable. Our server simply forgot our drink orders in more than two occasions. Otherwise, great food and good experience.
Amazing service ambiance and food
Good GlutenFree Pizza bit needs to be crisped on the bottom.
Pizzas were unimpressive as were first course items. Pasta was well made. Our server was under trained but her support staff seemed to know what's up.
Nice food, pricey but well worth!
Very good food. The octopus was cooked perfectly. The pizza was delicious. All the appetizers we tried were amazing, particularly the burrata.
Very attentive staff at this Italian restaurant. Separate wine menu but there are other drinks, incl beer & cocktails, on the main menu. They had the dogfish IPA which I tried. Got a selection of starters to try. The prosciutto & the caprese salad were memorable. They had specials which included the 'tomahawk' - a 24oz piece of beef to share. There was also a whole red snapper to share. They'd run out of the tomahawk so I got the NY strip and it was damn tasty, very tender & lightly salted. There were tasty sounding options for dessert but I was too full.
Great food. Great service. Sat on time for our Rsvp. Were not rushed. Rigatoni was epic. Toffee caramel dessert = must have. Will be back!
Charming place in the West Village. Gluten Free pizza & pasta options. Always a plus.
I came in very late and they immediately gave me a menu but still gave me time to consider my order. I ended up ordering Salami Pizza and a glass of Barolo. Both turned out to be fantastic and work together very well. All in all the atmosphere was nice, the stuff were all very friendly and food and drinks great. So I went on and suggested this place already to colleagues.
I know this can be difficult to admit by our American friends but pizza was born in Naples. If you say that this pizza is not cooked, sorry, but you don't know what pizza is. I know Rossopomodoro from Italy, and the NYC branch didn't disappointed. My pizza with mushrooms and truffle was great!
The waiter was very likable and gave us excellent service. The minestrone soup was served hot and tasty. The French toast was very good, especially the bread. The mimosa used fresh orange juice and the bloody Mary was very spicy. However the stairs down to the restrooms were steep and worn.
Poor pizza. Ordered 2 pizzas while on a date and we could even finish 2 slices. Honestly tasted undercooked and sloppy. Picked up a single slice and all the toppings + cheese slid right off. Wouldn’t waste 28 dollars on a pizza from here.
Pizza might have been better if hot. But gf pizza dough was pretty legit
Good food and service.
Attentive service. Really good food. Pastas have a good bite to them. Chocolate marchesa is a particularly good dessert.
The food is fresh and delicious, service is good and the staff is nice and pleasant. Pasta portions are a bit on the small side but always yummy.
Lunch special deal was pretty good Full size portion of salad and a little bit smaller portion of entree
Came here cause someone famous on Instagram posted a picture of the pizza. It was such a disappointment. The lobster pasta was too spicy and the pizza was soggy. Like literally soggy. Everything came apart once you lifted the pizza off the dish.
